Usman (known online as Tzot) lives with a physical disability. He uses prosthetic legs and a wheelchair. Getting around takes careful planning - certain experiences are difficult, others completely inaccessible.
His father, who has since passed away, would often tell Usman that if he could give him his hand or give him a leg, he gladly would - so that Usman could partake in different experiences. He chose not to do things that Usman couldn't do, never wanting his son to sit out alone.
Then Usman tried Explore POV on Apple Vision Pro.
Standing on a cliff overlooking a waterfall, surrounded by mountains that would take hours to walk to - mountains that with prosthetics or a wheelchair would be almost impossible to reach - something shifted.
"It's absolutely breathtaking to be able to take it all in."
On a ridge where you could see the sun setting on one side and little lakes off in the distance, Usman felt truly present. Then sitting in a kayak, calmly going through a lake - something he'd never been able to do in his entire life because with short arms, he could never hold an oar with enough strength.
"I've never been kayaking in my entire life. And here I am, calmly going through this lake, and it really feels like I'm there."
For Usman, Explore POV made his father's dream a bit of a reality.
"I really feel like I'm in my father's legs, sitting in this boat. I feel his presence. I feel like I'm fulfilling that goal he wanted for me - to be able to see as much of the world as I could."
It brings tears to his eyes at times. Not because of what he can't do - but because of what he now can.
Usman has since become a friend and advisor to Explore Immersive, providing feedback that shapes how we develop for accessibility.
Usman's experience showed us that what we'd built wasn't just travel content. It was access. It was therapy. It was connection.
This is what presence means. Not showing someone a place - but making them feel like they're truly there. Standing in someone else's legs.
Usman's story is why we're partnering with healthcare providers to bring immersive experiences to patients who can't access the outside world. It's why we're working on Explore Wellness - clinically-configured immersive experiences for rehabilitation, mental health, and accessibility.
Because everyone deserves to climb a mountain.
"I really hope that you can give this app a try and support development like this because this is what's truly going to take the Vision Pro to the next level."
We're partnering with healthcare providers to bring presence to patients who need it most.
